The Lunch Bag for the Woman Who Carries Her Own Story

Every morning begins with a choice.

What to wear.
What to carry.
What to finish before leaving home.
And, somewhere between the rush of getting ready and stepping into the day, there is one simple decision that often gets overlooked:

What are you taking for lunch?

For the modern working woman, carrying lunch to the office is not merely a routine. It can be a quiet expression of independence.

She earns her own living.
She makes her own decisions.
She builds her career.
She manages her day.

And yes, she carries her own lunch.

At Mid July Home, we wanted to give that everyday ritual a little more personality.

Not Just an Office Lunch Bag

Most lunch bags are designed to solve a problem.

Keep the food inside.
Carry it from home to office.
That's it.

We wanted to look at it differently.

What if a lunch bag could feel like a handbag?

What if something as ordinary as carrying your lunch could still have colour, character and style?

This design brings together a structured silhouette, comfortable handles and a secure zip closure with a vibrant printed surface inspired by Indian visual culture.

Floral motifs, architectural illustrations, warm colours and intricate decorative details come together to create a bag that doesn't immediately announce itself as a "lunch bag."

And perhaps that's the point.

Why should practical things be boring?

For the Woman Who Goes to Work Every Day

This bag is made for the woman who leaves home with purpose.

She may be heading to an office, a studio, a meeting, a co-working space or simply spending a long day away from home.

Inside the bag is her lunch.

But the bag itself carries something else—a little bit of her personality.

It is spacious enough for everyday meals and snacks, while the structured form keeps it looking polished. The top zip keeps the contents secure, while the long handles make it comfortable to carry.

It works with workwear.

It works with casual clothing.

And it doesn't need to hide behind another bag.

Why Did We Take It to India Kids Fashion Week?

This is where the story takes an unexpected turn.

When we decided to showcase the bag at India Kids Fashion Week – Season 13, we deliberately put it in the hands of children.

Not because the bag was designed only for children.

Quite the opposite.

We wanted to show that fashion does not always need to be serious.

A beautifully designed everyday object can be playful, expressive and cool—and a child walking down a fashion runway with it makes that idea impossible to miss.

The runway gave the bag a completely different personality.

What normally belongs on the way to an office suddenly became part of a fashion moment.

And that's exactly what we wanted people to notice.

A lunch bag doesn't have to look like a lunch bag.

Function Meets Personality

There is something satisfying about products that quietly make everyday life better.

You prepare your meal.

You put it inside.

You pick up the handles.

And you walk out of the door.

No complicated story.

Just a small object doing its job beautifully.

For us, that is where thoughtful design begins—not in making something unnecessarily complicated, but in taking an ordinary part of life and giving it a little more character.

For Every Woman Who Packs Her Own Lunch

There is a certain confidence in preparing something for yourself and carrying it into your day.

This bag celebrates that confidence.

It is for the woman who works, creates, travels, manages, leads and builds.

For the woman who doesn't need someone else to carry her lunch.

She carries it herself.

And perhaps that's the most beautiful thing about this bag.

It doesn't try to make an everyday routine extraordinary.

It simply reminds us that even everyday routines deserve beautiful design.
